BlogDylan.com is where I’ll be posting articles, interviews, and reviews related to Bob Dylan’s career, as well as doing some good, old-fashioned blogging! Even though I’ve got plenty of opinions and have published a few concert reviews, I’m not coming to this enterprise from the perspective of a music critic. Nor am I especially interested in his personal life, or at least any more of it than he allows to be glimpsed.
I’m happy to take his output at face value without seeking to use it as evidence to plumb the depths of his psyche. Whereas everybody is entitled to their privacy, I feel that Dylan is even more entitled to his because of all he has put out there for us to consume.
I used to own the original vinyl bootleg, it was a gift, and I got a kick out of it but felt somewhat embarrassed for him. Someone also gave me a copy of Tarantula, but I didn’t read it for some time because I knew that he had agreed to its publication only after the galleys had been stolen and were about to hit the streets.
As we get underway, the first job is to relocate the reviews and interviews that were published years ago on NewBerkshire.com.
